Biography

Jake is a certified Waldorf science and math teacher. Jake started his teaching career at a Waldorf-inspired charter school in New Hampshire, before spending his last two years at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City. After earning his degree in biology, Jake developed an interest in the philosophy of science. He feels passionately that, to study life, one must have genuine encounters with the living world. It is this phenomenological approach that inspires Jake’s teaching.

As a lover of the outdoors, Jake is thrilled to be living in Tucson, AZ. He is an avid hiker, backpacker, and trail-runner. He looks forward to leading trips to the desert and facilitating student-driven research of the unique Sonoran landscape. Jake enjoys cooking, reading, playing volleyball, and watching Survivor with his wife, a fellow Waldorf teacher.
