Biography
Growing up in Arizona, Jacob loved getting out in nature through backpacking, hiking and camping. The son of a former photographer and camera collector, Jacob got into film photography at an early age and loves taking an old-timey camera wherever he goes. After undergraduate studies at the U of A where he studied literature with an emphasis in poetry, he and his wife moved to Madrid, Spain, where they both taught English in Spanish public schools. While there, he earned a masters degree from a joint university program in North American Studies, an interdisciplinary degree that surveys North American literature, history, and political thought. When they moved back to Tucson, Jacob and his wife adopted their two gray cats, Football and Flip Phone, and Jacob has since taught two years in a private school. Inspired by the classics, Jacob's educational philosophy is all about holding up the wonders of literature to the questions every student asks on the path to becoming a fully developed human being.
