Biography
As a native Tucsonan, Zoe is a lover of the Sonoran Desert, the Spanish language and the borderlands culture. With time, her study of Wildlife Conservation along the US-Mexico border and field ecology, turned into a love of the Spanish language. As an ecologist, her main focus of study was native cats along the border, including jaguar, ocelot, jaguarundi, bobcat and puma.  Her master’s thesis used non invasive sampling to compare genetic separation of native felids in Southern Arizona. Zoe has always loved Mexico and spent time there working as an ecologist, traveling, and on the beach with her family since she was small. Her study of Spanish led her to learn to dance Salsa, meet her husband (native to Mexico), and then to her three bilingual / bicultural children. Zoe has worked in Waldorf schools in Tucson for 15 years and has always been obsessed with handwork and all hand crafts (especially with recycled materials).
